How To Update Minecraft

Minecraft is an app for macOS that is developed by Mojang Specifications.

Most of the time updating any app on macOS is pretty easy. Why update Minecraft? Because updates usually contain security fixes and other improvements that keep your Mac safe and performant. Today I'll show you an easy way to install the very latest version of Minecraft onto your Mac, and a really good way to be notified of new updates. Let's get straight to it!

1. The standard way to update Minecraft

First, we need to open the app:


Next, on Minecraft's menubar, click on "Check For Updates..." or a similar menu item:


If there is an update to Minecraft, you will be prompted to install it — pretty easy.

2. Check for the latest version of Minecraft with iBoostUp's Check My Apps function:

 - Open iBoostUp (download free, or search for it on the App Store).
 - Click "Check My Apps".
 - Click "Check my Applications Now".
