How To Update Excel

Most of the time updating any app on macOS is pretty easy. Why update Excel? Because updates usually contain security fixes and other improvements that keep your Mac safe and performant. Keeping all your Mac's apps up-to-date is an essential part of maintaining the security and performance of your machine — personally running the latest version of everything on my Mac keeps my mind at ease.

Today I'll show you an easy way to install the very latest version of Excel onto your Mac, and a really good way to be notified of new updates. Let's get straight to it!

1. The standard and easiest way to update Excel

First, we need to open the App Store:
Open the App Store


Next, in the App Store window click on the "Updates" section of the sidebar then tap on Update next to the Excel icon:

The update to Excel will now install automatically, easy wasn't it?!
