How To Uninstall Microsoft Remote Desktop

1. The standard and easiest way to uninstall Microsoft Remote Desktop:

First, we need to make sure the app isn't running, so lets open Force Quit (from the Apple menu on the top left of your screen) and terminate the app if you see it running:


 - Now, open your Applications folder.
 - Right-click on "Microsoft Remote Desktop".
 - Click on "Move to Bin" (or "Move to Trash" on older versions of macOS)

2. How to remove Microsoft Remote Desktop using the Terminal:

 - Open the macOS Terminal from Applications > Utilities.
 - Type killall "Microsoft Remote Desktop", hit ENTER
 - Type rm -rf "/Applications/Microsoft Remote Desktop.app", then hit ENTER.
 - If that fails, try typing sudo rm -rf "/Applications/Microsoft Remote Desktop.app"
 - Now type rm -rf ~/Library/Caches/com.microsoft.rdc.mac, hit ENTER.

3. Completely remove Microsoft Remote Desktop and related files using iBoostUp's Uninstaller:

 - Open iBoostUp (download free, or search for it on the App Store).
 - Click "App Uninstaller".
 - Click "Select Application", then select "Microsoft Remote Desktop" from the list and click "Uninstall".
 - Enter your password if prompted, you may choose to skip this by clicking cancel — note that skipping this prompt will leave some files behind that you can remove manually, these will be shown as 'skipped' on the results screen.

This will remove Microsoft Remote Desktop and all related files from your Mac.
