How To Uninstall Premiere Pro
Premiere Pro is a app for macOS that is developed by Adobe.
Generally speaking, uninstalling any app on macOS is pretty easy. You might want to remove an app you no longer use to just free up disk space.
Today I'll show you 3 very easy ways to uninstall and completely remove Premiere Pro from your Mac, so let's get straight to it!
The best way to uninstall Premiere Pro is with iBoostUp's Uninstall tool (free download)
1. The standard and easiest way to uninstall Premiere Pro:
First, we need to make sure the app isn't running, so lets open Force Quit (from the Apple menu on the top left of your screen) and terminate the app if you see it running:
- Now, open your Applications folder.
- Right-click on "Premiere Pro".
- Click on "Move to Bin" (or "Move to Trash" on older versions of macOS)
2. How to remove Premiere Pro using the Terminal:
- Open the macOS Terminal from Applications > Utilities.
- Type killall "Adobe Premiere Pro CS6", hit ENTER
- Type rm -rf "/Applications/Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5/Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5.app", then hit ENTER.
- If that fails, try typing sudo rm -rf "/Applications/Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5/Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5.app"
- Now type rm -rf ~/Library/Caches/com.adobe.adobepremierepro, hit ENTER.
This will remove Premiere Pro from your Mac, but some supporting and related files will be left behind. Read on for how to remove those.
3. Completely remove Premiere Pro and related files using iBoostUp's Uninstaller:
- Open iBoostUp (download free, or search for it on the App Store).
- Click "App Uninstaller".
- Click "Select Application", then select "Premiere Pro" from the list and click "Uninstall".
- Enter your password if prompted, you may choose to skip this by clicking cancel — note that skipping this prompt will leave some files behind that you can remove manually, these will be shown as 'skipped' on the results screen.
This will remove Premiere Pro and all related files from your Mac.
